Summit 2 charging issue?
Hi Guys
I have a Lester Summit 2 and have connected it directly to the battery pack 2006 CC President (48v, 12v x 4 Crowns). I bypassed my OBC after it failed and set up the S2 but it doesn't seem to want to shut off, last night my batteries were getting quite hot and bubbling, I didn't want to risk leaving it on overnight. I looked at the profile and it said 99% charged 1 min to go but 1hr later still reading the same. My batteries are a few years old but seem to be working ok just for driving around my land. I have that blue wire that came with the charger loom but never sure what to do with it so it's only connected to positive and negative terminals. Have attached screenshots from the app. Any ideas please? Thanks Thank you |

Re: Summit 2 charging issue?
How long in total has it ran? (That completion timer is not accurate.) It should work automatically and turn off. It is not unusual for a pack to bubble/gurgle towards the end of the cycle.

Re: Summit 2 charging issue?
Thank you, spoke with summit support and they think I have a bad battery which they are getting on in age, it's automaticly turning off after so many hours anyway so should be good I hope. Will look to replace the batteries soon.
Thank you |

Re: Summit 2 charging issue?
In the first few charges the charger is using info from the charge cycles to determine the "remaining" charge time. After about a dozen charges that gets much more accurate as the charger uses info from previous charges to help determine that.
Did you set the active charge profile to match your batteries? |

Re: Summit 2 charging issue?
Thank you, maybe it might get there still as this is like the 5th charge so far. Bill from support said the battery voltage displayed in your screen shots is still to low for your batteries to move onto the next phase of the charge. They do not go into the second phase until 58.8 volts is reached.

Re: Summit 2 charging issue?
Thank you guys, we got there , 100% charge now and it turned off. My old club car charger maybe it was bad or maybe the OBC was on its way out but my batteries seem better than before, I was almost at the point of buying new ones. Love this charger.
