Small sized voltage reducer
I have an old voltage reducer that is huge and I’m struggling to find a good place to mount it. It also only has 4 terminals (B-, B+, 12v-, 12v+) so I assume it’s always on.
I only am running lights (incandescent) and sometimes a trailer with 2 brake lights. Is there a smaller one out there? Mine is a 6”x6”x3” brick. Rated at 25amps. Seems a bit overkill for 6 lightbulbs??? |

I think the 20A is 2.9"x2.9"x1.25". I would add a relay triggered by the ignition switch to turn it off. DC/DC Converter Regulator Reducer 48V Step Down to DC 12V 20A 240W Power Supply |

Re: Small sized voltage reducer
Yes, as stated above. There is even a 10a version. But I would trigger it or buy one that is triggered.

Re: Small sized voltage reducer
Thanks. I’m not very savvy when it comes to wiring...how would I add a relay in this one to only work when the switch is on?

Re: Small sized voltage reducer
To add to Nole's diagram the negative 48V from the reducer goes to the B- of the controller (the Precedent has a black cable with a yellow bullet connector behind the batteries). This will ensure that any power drawn by the reducer is put back into the batteries when you connect your charger.
