Default HD F&R Switch

Hello all. In the process of upgrading my 96 48c club car ds. I am doing it piece mail due to the overall cost. I am about to upgrade the F&R switch. What is the benefit of getting a 3 way micro switch f&r switch vs the standard 2 way switch. Does the 3rd switch just give you another setting on the speed controller or is it two reverses?

According to cartsunlimited.net, it is for a reverse beeper or for a reduced reverse speed with an Alltrax controller.
