Dashboard-Console Removal
I was unsuccessful in my search of the topic. I have a 1999 Club Car DS and would like to remove the dashboard/center console area to get to the idiot state-of-charge light and yellow low-voltage light. Any tips or instructions on how to remove the dash?

Re: Dashboard-Console Removal
DISCONNECT THE BATTERY PACK! Atleast one end anyway... It is near impossible to get it out without shorting out the ignition switch on the top aluminum rail..... remove the 2 screws, 1 each side of the console. grab the console with 2 hands, 1 each side near the top and push down and lean the top out.... Once the top is out pull it up out from behind the bottom metal and slide it up the column as far as the wires will allow..... re install in reverse order

Re: Dashboard-Console Removal
Scotty-Good move to remind Nascar about battery disconnect. The arcing of that switch scared the H--- out of me, plus all the wiring smoke made my eyes water for an hour. Took 2 Coronas to settle down my nerves.

Re: Dashboard-Console Removal
Old thread, but still my question. Where are the two screws? My dash has large stereo speakers on each side, so maybe they're covering the screws? I haven't found a way to get the speakers off, either.

Re: Dashboard-Console Removal
The speaker bezels must be glued on - I've pretty much destroyed one trying to pry the grille off. I can see mounting screws through the grille. Maybe they got sick of the grille popping off on every bump...
Before I DO totally destroy the speakers, can someone tell me where the dashboard screws are? |

Re: Dashboard-Console Removal
I just did a write up of how to get the stock Club Car DS dash panel off (w/pictures), and it confirms what Scotty described...
Click this link >>> http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ber-plate.html But if you have a stereo and speakers, it sounds like you have an aftermarket carbon fiber dash... so this thread, and the one I posted above probably won't help you, because you have to remove the stock dash panel to install a carbon fiber dash. Most of the carbon fiber dashes that I've seen have about 10 screws around the outside edge holding it on. |
