digital batery gauge wiring HELP !!

Ok I got a NEW digital gauge for my 48 volt club car, I ALSO have a 12 volt battry for my sterio an things. now for you wiring guys !! here is what I want to do!! read BOTH battry voltage levels from 1- on off on rocker swich the swich will be off unless you want to swich to one of the positions to read
up-48v battry an Down 12V battry. my gauge has your typical red+ blk- I'm just not sure how to wire it I know it can be done ,will there have to be a couple 1 way diods to keep 1 of the voltages from coming back thro to the gauge whyle reading the other ? could SOMEONE POST or explain the schmatic for what i need for my Idea !

What you want to accomplish is not a difficult task . . hang in there . . . the answer will be forthcoming . .

Hook the center lead of your switch to the gauge +. Then your 12V+ and 48V+ leads to the two other connections on your switch. The - on the gauge goes to B-. Just switch your 12V+/48V+ leads to change which is up and down on the switch. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

OH ! more the batery neg what batery neg the 48v or 12v or will it matter ? or can I just ground it to the cart frame ?

Never ground anything to an electric carts frame!
Sorry, I didn't read your question well. Since you are using a separate 12V battery you will need to get a DPDT switch. ( double pole double throw ) Hookup will be the same as in my first post except you will have to hookup the negative side the same way. Here's a simple diagram looking at the bottom of the switch:
