Default 5 switch/solenoid to V glide conversion

The cart is a 84 Club Car, 36 volt with the original 5 switch, 5 solenoid set up.

Is it worth the time and effort to change to the V glide set up? Thought about the electronic controllers, but, a bit pricey.

Thank you in advance for your help and comments.

The V-glide is a peddle position indicator. It works with resistor coil and controller speed selection systems.
It will not work with the 5 solenoid system. Your system has 5 micro switches for peddle position indication.

You would use a potentiometer and a speed controller together.

just to add a little even you go with a v-glide you,ll still need the bank of resistors its a lot of work for no gain at all...............as scotty mentioned go with a controller and pot i promise you,ll be happy and its a very easy install that will eliminate lots of cables, the resistors and it will be smooth as silk............................

Okay, that solves that I guess my next question would be what size controller in amps would I need? Just so you know the motor on the cart is original with a cleaning and brush replacement about a year ago. Thanks for the help.

Controller size is calculated by equation. We need to know tire size, load, terrain, and desired performance. to know if you need 4 or 500 amps. You will also be looking at upgrading all of your cables.

Scottyb, The cart is completely stock. Tires are 8 X 18.5, load is 2 passengers, terrain is flat and on paved streets (gated retirement community). I figure the 400 amp Curtis controller and pot box that are my E Z Go spares should work. Battery cables just replaced, and will replace motor wires during the conversion. Thanks for the help, scottyb and shadowman.

Yes that is something that could be done. You will need the solenoid that went with that package. Or something 200 amp equivalent
You could use my CC throttle conversion kit to simplify the installation.

Scottyb, Have the solenoid for the controller and ready to start the conversion. Cart is up on jack stands and batteries are removed. Let you know how it goes, and once again, thank you, everyone, for your help.
