I think David meant the U bolt leaf spring retaining plates!
My U bolts somehow loosened up a little and would lock up the passenger side brake! I think it was due to the axle tube "rolling" a little bit when braking! |

You nailed it! I was so busy thinking it was the brakes. The longer U Bolts get a bit more leverage against them than the originals I suppose. There was some wear marks on the axle where I could see that it was moving a little. They just loosened over time probably. I was able to tighten the aft bolts about a full turn and a half! One more thing to put on my list of periodic checks.
