Cursed with the dreaded RXV brake issue

Just replaced solenoid but I think the underlying problem was that darn motor brake. Here is a design question has anyone replaced the original motor brake with a traditional rear end like off a TXT with drum, I know pedals would need to be integrated as well. I love my RXV and did not even realize when I bought it had a nontraditional brake system. I hate to think I will have to buy a $200. motor brake every year to make it reliable. I just really prefer the looks and speed out of these carts over the TXT but might have to build a custom 48volt TXT if I can't figure out this brake problem.
