Default 1987 ezgo wiring confusion

Hi all, I am new to this forum and new to golf carts. I apologize if I am repeating someone else's questions. I bought a 1987 EZ GO at an auction and the previous owner had it wired up to three 12 volt car batteries. I purchased six new 6 volt cart batteries and want to make sure it is hooked up correctly. My lead from the positive side of the pack goes to the F/R switch and another lead comes down to the battery side of the solenoid. Is this correct because I have seen another diagram showing the battery positive lead going directly to the solenoid ? Also the large post on the opposite side of the solenoid has two cables connected one to the movable wiper and the other going around the board and fastening to the number one contact button which is one up from the dead contact button. Is this correct ?

Yeah, I have a copy of that diagram and it's the one that's throwing me off. It shows the lead off the positive side of the pack going straight to the solenoid ? also it shows a lead coming from the F/R switch and going to the number 4 contact button on the accelerator.?

More than one way to make it run - use either diagram but not a mix of the 2 unless you are an expert DC tech.
