Yeah….well what do you think the chances were that my cable lugs were 3/8ths? Ha!! No way buddy. Mine are the lowly 5\16th's.

So, lemme ask this stupid question…..Can I just drill out the 5\16th's to 3\8ths? After all, I have this really nice drill press. :limo:

I'm guessing no….but hey…if you don't ask…

I could replace the existing lugs, but for sure I think my cables will be just a tad short. My brother in law has the crimp tool and made mine from welding cable I believe.

It would be better to measure cable/lug temperature.

Dave.
Drill away. Electrically it would be fine.

You can drill them but be careful when it grabs because that cable whipping around hurts... Ask me how I know..

We have seen some bloody finger pics posted here from trying to hand hold a cable and drill. The soft copper grabs the bit unlike harder steel. So even in the press make sure you hold the lug in a secure vise.

A dremel I have….and I manage to screw up more stuff at fifteen million RPM with a dremel than I do with a hand file.

Yeah….I'm with ya on the cable\stuck bit\whip & bleed thing. However, what you don't know about me is that even though I have zero electrical knowledge, I actually went thru a machine shop training school when I was 19 and ran a main bay drill press for a major company who build compressor's and turbines for the gas and oil industry. Of course, that was back in the early '70's and that's what made me go to college. :thumb up:

Remember…..it's not so much the speed that will get ya…..it's the feed!!!

But it's good to know that I don't have to have made or acquire new wiring as that would toss another monkey wrench into the equation. To most, it's not a big deal. But to me….it's a big deal. The last time I changed my battery wires and motor wires (which is actually a simple task) that was "my day." So, in addition to that being my day's accomplishment, it then took the next day for me to recover (aka sleep) from doing that task. Yeah…this MS crap is dreadful. What use to take 3 hours to accomplish can now take two days.

But, I'm sure I can convince him to pull the wires and drill 'em.

I sent a PM to Scotty as to how I can paypal him. You know…. a dollar a year for the next 222 years 'n stuff.

Thanks guys!!
