Default Cart runs without pushing pedal

Been trying to work thru some issues with our 91' Marathon. First one is that the cart will start driving without holding the pedal down. You push the pedal down let go and the cart keeps going. Been looking over wiring diagrams thanks to this site, as well as taking photos of wiring on our cart.

Take a look at this picture:

If you notice the contact board is missing 2 posts! On top of that the movable contact is gone. And guess what found it..! Broke housing and was laying up in the front tray.

My questions are as follows:

1. Could this be the cause of pushing throttle letting go and the cart goes full speed on?
2. Notice how the shaft and arm assembly seems to be bent - is this normal?
3. Can I just purchase a new control board assembly , along with moveable contact and install into the cart?

Please remember only owned cart for 2 days now, been studying electrical diagrams as much as I can. Got all the tools to work on cart myself and trying to keep repairs to minimum (single dad raising two girls) - so you can imagine!

Thanks for this awesome site and any help is greatly appreciated.

-Garry

your swiper assembly is FUBAR

it is hanging up on the stud and not turning off

you need to replace both the board and the arm

i just did one this weekend for around $50

Was it a difficult swap? Looked pretty straight forward to me when I was looking around in the cart.
