Default Alodine

Someone I've interacted with and can't place mentioned using Alodine on the cart frame. Does anyone have experience with this product?

It is made by loctite, not sure why you would need this.

The poster was making reference to it as a protectant. I did some research and what I found was for anodizing aluminum for corrosion resistance. But the one's I saw cause the metal to bronze which is not what I'm wanting.

Don't know the chemical compound for Alodine and if that's the same as the zinc chromate but I'll do a bit more investigation. I've spent some time cleaning, replacing metal and I just wanted it to stay in decent shape because of all the work I've done. Truth is after the covers are put back on it probably won't matter but I'll check it out.

On aircraft, they use the sink as a primer and paint over it most of the time.
