Default club car 48vdc charger

My charger is not working. It worked fine last May when I put it away at my Florida winter home. Plugged it in today, no hum, no meter indication. What should I check first?

Check the AC power supply to the charger.
Check the cart battery pack voltage. If it's too low the charger cannot 'sense' the pack and will not turn on.

I believe you told me what is wrong. I don't have a multi-meter here so can not check voltage but batteries are most likely completely dead. Therefore what should I do?

first off.....go buy a DMV....you can get one at a lot of auto parts stores or even Wal-Mart....will only run about 10 - 15 bucks.

if you find the batteries are just a little low.....like sitting at say 5.5v. if you have a regular 12v car battery charger.....hook them in series and charge them 2 at a time until you have enough juice to plug in your regular cart charger...... NOW if you find your batteries are DEAD....like REAL DEAD. get the phone book and start looking up cart shops or at least cart battery suppliers so you can buy a new set of batteries.
