Default Battery voltage

Can someone tell me what the voltage drop should be under a load on a 8 volt battery 48 volt system and or what is to much drop

42 volts is the lowest you would want to see unless you are hauling a very heavy load and/or climbing steep hills and even then you're hoping to see the voltage recover as soon as you ease off the pedal... Where we live is very hilly and I'll see 38 volts while cruising the steep hills but it is very short term and recovery to 42 + is instant.

so can just a couple of volts make a noticeable difference in speed. My cart is pushing around 6.7 volts per battery rolling on level ground.

That is way low. My batteries hold above 8v each while cruising on level ground. You have lost the equivalent of a whole battery. This would be a significant drop in speed.

As commented by The Kernal that is BAD very bad... On flat level ground @ constant speed you should be seeing closest to 48 volts....
