Question Motor & Controller

Hi all, cannot tell you what kind make of cart as it is a weird one, but it has a Curtis PMC Sepex Controller 36V.
There is no make on the motor only F1 F2 A1 A2.
The motor has burnt out. This is a friends cart.
6 x 6volt batteries.
I have a 48v motor that has a pigtail with plug on it coming out of the rear end which I believe is to do with speed control, came out of a Club Car.
If I use this motor in his cart will it work?

well you said your friends cart is a 36v system and has a 36v controller, so I don't think you can add that 48v club car motor to it without modification if it's even possible on that car that you cannot identify lol

Thanks for the replies. I hooked my motor up to his cart and it works.
It goes forward and backwards, but I am not sure that it is going fast enough.
Could it be that even though it works the 48v motor is not getting full voltage from the 36v controller.

If the motor is built for 48 volts and the cart has 36 volts the motor wont spin at rated rpms so it will be slow.
