96 DS Charger Won't Shut Off.
Hello all. 1996 DS 48v. Power Drive. Cart runs great. New (about a month old) batteries. Charger works, but will not shut off. Tried resetting the OBC by unhooking negative cable for an hour or so. Same thing, charger goes all the way to zero but never shuts off, even after 16 hours and I'm afraid to leave it on much longer than that. Voltage on all batteries and pack are fine.
I have seen instructions on how to bypass the OBC for Regen carts, but not for this one. What should I do? Thanks! |

So this just started? After the new batteries were put in, it did shut off?
How are you checking the voltages and when are you checking the voltages to get your numbers? |

If the charger goes all the way to zero it is shut off. What am I missing?

What does the charger go to when you first hook it up. Unplug it then plug it back in. You should see the needle go up for a few minutes then back off.

Re: 96 DS Charger Won't Shut Off.
Have not had the cart long, Had no batteries when I bought it. Installed new Interstates. Yes it has done this since day one.
When plugged in (factory CC charger) the needle jumps up about halfway for a few seconds, perhaps 5, shuts back to zero, clicks back to about halfway, chargers for a while depending on how much it has been used or how long off charger, needle slowly goes back to zero but never stops humming. Afraid to leave it on and cook new batteries. I have read that new batteries can do silly stuff for a while, and cart has been used very little. Thanks to all. |

only half way on the meter? like 10 amps? even after you have run it, that's as far as the meter goes up?

Issue in the charger. What charger do you have?
