I installed one of those on an E-Z-GO; it works OK, but
1) inefficient - it draws nearly as much current supplied @ 36V as it provides at 12V. Ideally, it should only draw about 1/3 as much. 2) It needs to be disconnected from batteries when not in use to not run them down. 3) It does not have a trigger wire; switch must be rated for full supply current. 4) Output is not isolated. Negative 12V wire is connected to negative 36-48V wire, making one of those redundant and risking short circuits if -12V makes connection to any other battery voltage. |

I run a DPI reducer on my cart. It's an awesome device. Direct from manufacturer is about $200. I've bought the 15-20 dollar ones and they are garbage. I found the DPI through Edrives on ebay and am very pleased with the pricing. Plug and play is always awesome though.
