New FNR switch - Problems

Golf Cart new guy. I just completely refinished my first cart, which was a 1995 Ezgo Medalist. I have a similar problem with an HD forward reverse/switch I just installed. Before the upgrade, pushing/pulling selector to left (or towards driver) would engage forward travel. Conversely, pushing the lever right (or towards passenger) would engage reverse. After the up grade the shifter is completely opposite. Push left towards driver, boom reverse buzzer goes off and cart reverse at 35%, which is what I have programmed in controller. Push right towards Passenger, boom 100% speed. I have checked all controller connections twice and the micro switch wiring, which is just three wires, is pretty idiot proof. Only thing I can figure is cam shaft (the bar that runs through to connect shifter) is installed in wrong orientation. The cam is flat on two sides and rounded top and bottom. The arm can only connect one direction because a flare in the frame prevents it from being installed any other direction. Any thoughts would be nice. Eventually, I will probably just swap it out with the forward/reverse contractor switch Scotty sales, but that will have to wait until I save a little. But any thoughts on my current predicament would be helpful. I do find it some what interesting that the original poster and I both just recently bought new switches and both seem to be operatin backwards.

If you swap the S1 and S2 wires at the F&R the shifter direction will reverse.
These wires are at the 9 and 3 oclock position on the F&R
