Thanks. i never loosened the front leaf bolts where they mount to the frame so that should still be square - but I wonder if my axle is slightly off below them.

I will also measure my front tires as per that above.

You may have worn parts or may need to grease all your fittings or both. Either way, you'll need to poke around your front end looking for zerk fittings and grease them before you start making changes.

I had an 85 EZGO and greasing the fittings took out over half the steering wheel play... Buddies cart was so bad he wouldn't let his kid drive it and it's not perfect now but it's OK for the whole family to drive. Just make sure you find and grease all the front end fittings.
