Re: 2002 Electric CC IQ speed magnet mistake
I tried this. Continuity only between f1 and f2, not a1 and a2. Also no continuity with the 3 where there shouldn't have been.
First time I mounted the motor I assumed they didn't push the brushes onto the armature, so I pulled again and took off the end cover and pushed all 4 back in and then reassembled and mounted now I'm here. Definitely possible I didn't set the brushes correctly but all were in when I went to mount end cover |

Re: 2002 Electric CC IQ speed magnet mistake
If you lift one wheel off the ground and rotate it, if you never get continuity between A1 and A2, one of the armature motor posts is probably disconnected inside the motor.

Re: 2002 Electric CC IQ speed magnet mistake
I tried spinning the wheel while checking and no continuity. I will pull the motor and see if I can figure out what's disconnected.

Re: 2002 Electric CC IQ speed magnet mistake
It runs!! I pulled the motor for the 3rd time, pulled the end cap, and the brushes weren't touching the commutator. Fixed that, check continuity and it was good. Carefully reinstalled the motor and it drove.
I wish I could buy you guys a couple beers to show my appreciation. I definitely learned a lot about my cart in the process. Thanks again! |

Instead of buying them beers, try the green DONATE button at the top of the home page.

Re: 2002 Electric CC IQ speed magnet mistake
I am dealing with the exact same thing on my 2005 CC Precedent, I unscrewed the retainer screws. Then went to remove the motor and the armature is staying on the shaft and i cant get the shell to go back over the motor to try to long screw trick for the bearing retainer. Based on previous posts and what i can see the brushes are in the way and need to be pushed back down. Is this at all possible without removing the whole motor since i cant get the armature unstuck? Thanks for any help you can provide.
