Default 2002 TXT Tries to go, but...

A month or so ago the cart stopped working normally. Most times now when trying to make it go, it only moves slightly in forward or reverse. Playing with the accelerator and forward/reverse switch will cause it to suddenly go at normal speed, then when it comes to stop, the problem occurs again.

The solenoid and controller, Altrax DCS, were replaced about 3 years ago. The green light on the controller gives the proper sequence when it is turned on, (four green flashes, then solid green).

The Inductive Throttle Sensor and its limit switch were replaced about three weeks ago. At pins 1 and 2 on the 9-pin connector on the controller DC voltage goes from 10VDC to 6VDC as the accelerator is pressed fully.

Yesterday I replaced the brushes in the Advance DC motor.

Battery total voltage today was 36.7VDC after reinstallation of batteries and cables. I also checked water level in all cells.

The on/off switch was replaced within the last year by a dealer along with new headlights and taillights. The forward/reverse switch is on the dash and an on/off toggle switch in under the seat on the passenger side.

Any ideas of what to check or replace next?

well fir starters....at 36.7 vdc your batteries are nearly DEAD (50%) and should be immediately put on the charger. you should never allow your batteries go below 50% or damage WILL occur.

OK, I will look into that. Does it just pop out of the dash or is there more disassembly required?

Yes it is. Everything I have found indicates that the controller and solenoid are good

As scottyb stated the F/R switch may be bad.
Since your throttle tests show good readings it is highly likely the F/R switch has an issue.

I don't 100% remember but I don't think the solenoid will click if the cart is in neutral so if the switch was bad, ie no contacts, I wouldn't think it would click.

Well that was disappointing. I drove to the nearest cart store and bought a f/r switch and some of those plastic rivets. Stopped for gas on the way home and when I got back in the Tahoe, it clicked. Called AAA for a tow, had to wait nearly 3 hours.

Finally get home, take out the old switch and in with the new.

Nothing. Problem still there. I have too much invested to set it on fire.

Any other ideas?
