What is the biggest fuse your local auto house has? 30a should do it.

It would be tomorrow before I could get one over here and the 50amp'er should be here too so I'll just wait. I can use today to "tidy" up everything plus I'd like to find someone to double check my connections against the schematic/directions before I connect the batteries so another day is not a problem. (The help I thought I was going to get at the airport didn't work out so I'm on my own.)

beaverislander,
I know waiting for a fuse, or any part can be a drag, but congratulations on your perseverance and pending completion.

It does feel good when a plan comes together and you get to enjoy the outcome.

Post some pictures if you can we all like to see them.

I just trailered it to a guys place that converted a small pickup to electric. He looked everything over and gave it his blessing so this afternoon I'll hook-up the battery cables. That leave's me with the 50amp fuse tomorrow, and the meter.

Not the best pics but I'd rather not remove the batteries again if I don't have to.

If anyone see's a potential problem please let me know.

It is hard to tell from the first picture of the solenoid, but make sure the cable lug is in direct contact with the base of the solenoid, the stack order should be:
Cable lug.
pre-charge resistor.
Flat washer.
Lock washer.
Nut.
Does your diagram not include an additional small gauge wire on the Solenoid big post on the Battery side?

Thanks, I'll be sure it is.

Edit: Whoops, I answered before I saw the second part of your post. I'll check it out soon, I'm inside at the moment.

I squared the order away on both lugs

No, just have the pre-charge resistor on each lug nothing else. If I'm looking at the schematic right it shows the red key switch wire going there, but I have it running to the positive terminal on battery #5. Is that wrong?

Now I'm wondering if I have the key switch wire goofed up. I have the black wire from the key switch crimped to the yellow & red wire from foot pedal and the red key switch wire going to positive terminal on battery #5. Why...I DON'T KNOW!!!! Should the red key go on one of the big solenoid studs? Is the black OK going into that crimp?
