3" Rear wheel spacer ?
Ok....I've got (I think) just about every needed accessory on my cart required for hunting and driving the up and down hills (sometimes mountains) of Southwest Pennsylvania.
I have been running the cart with a 1" rear wheel spacer with no issues at all. However, even with HD rear springs, the cart will come close to "tipping" when I'm on a side hill. So, do you think going from a 1" space to a 3" spacer on each rear wheel will help? Or.....is there something else I should look at for "more better" stability? |

The spacer should help and also a wider tire and lower center of gravity if possible.

Dave, I don't think the extra couple of inches will help enough to make a true difference. you would be better of making some OUT RIGGERS that attach to the frame and go out a foot or two wider than the cart! lol

Re: 3" Rear wheel spacer ?
yes they will help-some... lowering the cart will be a greater help as well....
if you had adjustable panhard rods (track bars) F/R you can also change your roll centers as well... |

I dunno what adjustable "panhard rods" are.....but Google can be my friend. Now, this isn't an issue that I can't\won't go out until my perceived issue is solved.....but I was wondering if this would help. I know that on cars\vehicles they have a torsion type set up that helps stability. Just wasn't sure about carts!! |

Yes Dave, a few extra inches will definitely help. I've been runnin the 3" spacers on mine for years and have had no issues. The wider the track width, the more stable the buggy will be.

Re: 3" Rear wheel spacer ?
As an engineer, I should point out that it does increase the stresses on the end of the axles and the bearings when spacers are added. Sure, it increases stability. Just be sure that the axles are strong enough to handle the extra stresses. You don't want an axle to snap while you are in a precarious situation that could cause you to roll over when it fails.

Also, I did some reading on "Panhards" and from what I can determine they are only useful on coil spring suspension vehicles. The rear of mine are HD leaf springs. |
