Summit series 2 charger
Hey guys , I'm trying to wire in an on board summit series 2 charger. I have the easy part done with the red & black wires connected to pack + and -. It has a 3rd blue wire for lock out that says to connect to the vehicle speed controller. Any pointers you can offer to help locate where to tap this one in the harness to get the signal I'm looking for?

Re: Summit series 2 charger
If the charger is configured for on board, just cut the blue wire by the OBC 6-pin connector and connect the Blue wire from the charger to the side that goes to the cart harness.

Re: Summit series 2 charger
I guess it would have helped if I mentioned I was working on a 2013 Precedent. I don't have an OBC correct?

Re: Summit series 2 charger
They actually made both, the OBC and ERIC system that model year.
On an ERIC cart, just connect that charger blue wire to the blue wire from the cart receptacle. |

I only have a red a black and grey on my charge port. Is the grey one the one I want?

Re: Summit series 2 charger
The ERIC cart is supposed to have a White Controller and a blue wire instead of the gray sense wire on the cart receptacle.
The OBC cart has a Grey Controller, a opening behind the Solenoid for the OBC and a grey wire on the cart receptacle. I don't know if there was any difference during that transition time, but Serial #s starting with PH were OBC. |

Re: Summit series 2 charger
Ok here's what I'm working with, I have a PH1342 serial # but I have a white controller, a gray wire on the charge receptacle and no OBC that I can find . My pack negative goes right under the divider and straight to a post on the controller. I guess I'm working with a hybrid?

Re: Summit series 2 charger
Do You have a 6-pin connector near the Solenoid where the OBC used to plug?
If that gray wire is wired to the charger interlock circuit of an ERIC cart, You should measure near pack voltage between that gray wire and pack negative. |

Re: Summit series 2 charger
I will have to check tomorrow to see if there's a 6 pin connector there. I tried connecting the charger blue wire into that gray wire and the cart wouldn't move. I disconnected it without connecting the 2 ends of gray wire back together and it moved as normal. I put it back together with no noticeable change but left it connected anyway.

Re: Summit series 2 charger
If the Controller was disabled without plugging the charger AC plug to the wall..., How sure are You the charger is configured for "On Board" use?
Unless you set it up yourself (best guarantee) or bought the charger pre-configured for "on board use", You should check the configuration. Download the "ChargerConnect" App for your phone or scan the QR code on the charger. Once you connect the App to the charger using Bluetooth, go to "System Profile" and make sure there is a check mark on "On Board". If the charger is currently configured for "OFF Board" use, the lockout signal will be present as soon as you connect the positive and negative wires to the batteries. |
