Default 2009 EZGO 48v TXT Controller Replacement

My 09 EZGO TXT has been shutting down while driving. It runs fine and then the battery gauge instantly goes to 0 and low battery indicator comes on and cart slows and stops. Once the cart completely stops, I can reset the key and the cart will run fine again until the same thing happens. Batteries seem ok, solenoid checks ok. I am guessing the controller is to blame, but not sure. I have the ACD controller, pics attached. What are the options to change this controller? Could it be something else?

That looks like a Danaher RXV controller. And I think you have battery problems. What have you done to check them? What does their voltage drop to during the failure? ("During", not "just after")

I just topped the batteries off and individually charged them without any faults. I “assume” that they are ok. I did not have a meter connected to the batteries while driving so I could try that, but the battery indicator drops down to 0.

Batteries can drop to zero when put under load. So while charging to full voltage is one test and them holding said voltage is another good test, putting them under load is the final test and you may well find one or more batteries dropping to 0 or near 0, so the whole pack voltage drops off a cliff.

This chart will tell you where your batteries are.

I will run the cart with the voltmeter attached and see what happens. Does it make sense that the cart runs fine again for a while after I reset the key?

Yes. Batteries can/will "rebound" after being put under load.

Have you checked all your high current cables with a good tug on each one? Could be you barely have connection on one or more of them and when under load it breaks the connection?

I will check connections and test the voltage while driving and report back. Thanks everyone!

Ok, checked the voltage while driving. At top speed voltage shows 44V fairly steady. When the problem occurs as mentioned the voltage jumps to 48V after the needle goes to 0. I did not see any massive voltage drop when the issue occurs, but it may be happening faster than the voltmeter can pick up. I did notice that the battery gauge will go from full to 3/4 full shortly before it goes all the way to zero.
