Battery Break in Clarification...
Hey, according to accepted method of break in, 48V pack is to be driven to @75% (@49.49V) then plugged back in for recharge. I assume that 49.49V is at hot idle and not the dip while driving, correct?

Re: Battery Break in Clarification...
yes, after the cart has rested and voltage "bounces back" to the resting voltage of 75% SoC.
But, you don't have to drive it until pack voltage is 75%; the rule when breaking in a pack is to not let it get below 75% SoC. Meaning, if you drive it for a couple of miles and the pack is at 90% SoC and you don't plan on using the cart anymore that day, plug it in. After a dozen or up to 20 charge cycles, you're batteries should be broken in and give you the best performance. Be sure to read though the "all about batteries" sticky and print yourself off a SoC chart to keep in the cart with you. |

Yes, I read the procedure, and I have the chart. I just wanted to be sure voltage is at resting idle. I drove around last PM, and it's gonna take a loooong time to get to 75% SOC. Thanks!

Re: Battery Break in Clarification...
That's what I'm saying.
You DON'T have to get to 75% for the break in procedure. Just don't go below that mark. |
