Weird Solenoid / Alltrax issue

EZGO TXT PDS 48v

Just got this thing two weeks ago and have been working on it since...upgraded everything and have learned a ton from this forum!

Had to disconnect the charger and batteries today when I was trouble shooting the issues with the summit charger. Got it all put back together and now I have a new issue!

I the controller would not turn on and I could not figure out why. Started by checking connections, all the normal stuff I have read in other posts.

When I put the socket on the large right solenoid nut and put turn pressure the fan came on! Problem is when I let go the controller turned back off.

Did that a few times and got the controller to stay on.

Now when I push the gas pedal the solenoid cycles and the cart goes, release the pedal and it won’t go again until I repeat the step of putting turn pressure on the large nut.

Bad solenoid? Bad resistor? I’m special?

That's an expensive lesson to learn.

You should use a better solenoid than that anyway
Replace with SW180

I have the 500a Alltrax XCT, should I go with the SW200 or am I better off with the SW180?
