New leaf springs standard vs heavy duty
I have a 88 ezgo marathon with a rear seat and 8 batteries. I am going to replace all shocks and springs. Should I do heavy duty front and rear? Or just rear and standard for the front? Want to still have a decent ride when not loaded.

Re: New leaf springs standard vs heavy duty
personally, I only did the HD Rears on mine. the front it fairly light anyway, and if you look at the stock vs HD Front springs, there is very little difference.

Re: New leaf springs standard vs heavy duty
Not sure if you've dove into your purchase yet, but I just ordered set of "dual-action" leaf springs.
My buddy has 3-leaf HD springs on his TXT and it's way too rough. The dual-actions have two-normally supporting leafs, with a 3rd "helper" to support a heavier load. This is supposed to give you a more normal ride most of the time, and provide the support when your load is heavier (passengers or cargo). Here's what I bought. You can see if they have them for the older carts. https://www.golfcarttiresupply.com/e...gas-1996-2008/ |

Have rear seat that only sees occasional use
Duel action here and never looked back. Smooth stock ride with two riders in front. Extra leave picks up weight of rear seat riders when used.😊 |

Re: New leaf springs standard vs heavy duty
Just as an update, I am completely satisfied and impressed with the Rhox (Red Hawk) dual-action springs.
My old ones were very worn, so the new ones gave me an inch of lift or so, and the ride is firmer, but better in my opinion, without being overly aggressive or harsh on ride quality. Probably the best $110 a cart owner could spend if they have a rear seat. |

Re: New leaf springs standard vs heavy duty
I've never actually used the dual-rate springs, but I have used the regular HD springs, and can attest to them being harsh when no load is on the back. I'd like to try the dual rate springs, just that we dont build too many lifted carts anymore (that market has 75% been taken over by side-by-sides around here).
