Admiral motor application question.
Hi all, I came across a used admiral motor and I am hoping to find out if it would work well for my application. It is labeled MOT-B3 11hp 36v, but I haven't been able to find specs on this model here or on the web? It is 19 spline and series so it will work but I am hoping to find out if this is a "high torque" or "high speed" motor. I have an industrial cart (875) and am after more torque for the hills not really concerned about gaining speed. It is 36v and has a factory 400a curtis controller and 4g cable. If this motor is in fact high torque will this controller be OK? Should I upgrade the F/R switch and relay/solenoid (if so recommendations)?
I am new to the forum and haven't made enough posts for pm's so please post reply's to the thread so I can see them Thank you! -Nick |

Re: Admiral motor application question.
Thank you Sir Nuke! A follow up question; I found another motor an AMD BL5-4001. It is a 8hp at 1600rpm on 36v. My understanding is this is a "high torque" motor as well. Any thoughts on which is better for my application; industrial cart for lugging stuff between shops up a hill.
Thanks! -Nick |
