2000 DS "sputters" reverse/forward

Just happened. Put in forward or reverse and it makes a "sputtering" sound from some below my feet. Cart does not shake, just the sound and no movement. Then, it will suddenly kick in and drives perfectly -- for a while. Any idea what's up with this cart. 2000 DS (48v).

Now the cart no longer "sputters", but it will not go in forward or reverse. Solenoid clicks. F/R switch is a couple month old. About two weeks ago replaced charging receptacle. Charges fine. Any help greatly appreciated.

Now it's sputtering/juttering again. I'm going to dig into V-Glide unless others think that's a waste of time.

BTW, reverse buzzer sounds and solenoid clicks. Thanks
