Smile Speed Measure - Ulysse Speedometer App Review

I am using this app to measure speed in my EZGO PDS:
http://www.appbrain.com/app/ulysse-s...ys.speedometer

It is available on the Android market and keeps up with your total travel time/distance/average speed.

I am measuring at 18 with a speed "chip" on my 2008 stock 36v EZGO PDS. The max speed in history is 20 MPH. Does anyone mind sharing how accurate this app is at measuring their speed as compared to their purpose build Garmins, Magellans, and whatever else?

I have measured mine a lot with the Garmen. 18 MPH with nothing done but the speed chip sounds right. I have a PQ motor in mine now and the speed chip and it does 23-24 MPH with just me. If it's working off of GPS it should be pretty much on the money!

By the way I think you meant 36 volts instead of 32?

Yes on the 36 volts. Sorry. It is based on the GPS, but I assume that it is less accurate.

My Garmen is right on the money with the Radar they have at work in the morning when I drive in. It's 20 MPH on the work site and they have one of those street Radar's and mine is dead on everytime.

I have used this app many times and always found it to be dead on accurate against a Magellan, the police radar (yes, they are kind enough to come down and shoot radar at carts for me while blocking traffic so I have no worries about getting hit by a car that isn't paying attention), a Garmin and the X-ray speedometer kit that Nivel sells.

Pretty nice app if you ask me. I even use it to check my speedometer in the truck from time to time.....

After reading ya'lls responses and the reviews on the app I purchased it on my phone. It seems pretty well put together.

I use that same app. It is a free download from Android and when I checked it with my Avalanche it was +1 @ 70mph. Close enough for government work.

Yes, your Avalanche is measuring rolling speed...GPS uses traveling speed. There are more variables to make a car speedometer less accurate. Trust your GPS.

And it is always best to measure on flat ground.
