I mounted an analog style batt. gauge in the key switch plate, centered it up vert. and horiz. as not to interfere with switch. just enough room for a 2 " holesaw and it fit great. as for the light switch i drilled about a half inch hole , just enough for switch threads to go thru. depending on the size of switch. and put washer and nut on backside. hope this helps. getting ready to do the same to my other cart.

Just get some aluminum or steel and make new ones.

The suggested fixes above will work. If you have a hole to fill you can use a metal or plastic plug from Home Depot see this link. You can paint the plugs to match your cart.

For the light switch you'll need to get creative, as it sounds like you cut into your body cowl.

For the battery gauge, next to the key switch, I would go to a golf cart dealer and buy a used key switch plate. I can't imagine that it would cost more then a couple bucks.

thanks for the help guys...i think im either gonna buy a thin piece of steel an fab my own plate or either buy a key plate that already has the cut-out for the battery meter...and by the way i have the rectangular digital meter.

New owner here and the cart I bought has a switch that was installed crudely and was missing the key so its always in on position. Does the LED battery meter (bar type) stay on even when the key switch is turned to off? I am replacing the switch today with one I have located at an auto parts store. I have removed the existing switch and its contacts and there is no juice going to the motor but that LED battery meter is still on... just curious if mine has been wired correctly??

I have a 2000 DCS and my factory meter stays on all the time if the cart is in gear. To prevent running down the battery I turn the key off and place the cart in neutral, which kills the meter. Give that a try.
