88 Marathon starter question
My 88 Marathon will not turn over fast enough to start the motor. It has a brand new battery. Also, once you move the shifter, the motor tries to start which I dont think is correct? Any help would be appriciated.
Is the electric starter suppose to start when you move the shifter? or when you push the gas pedal? Also, does anyone have any idea why the electric starter motor is not turning over fast enough? The battery has over 600 CA. |

Re: 88 Marathon starter question
motor should not turn over until the accelerator pedal is pressed, this could be a bad microswitch or solenoid welded in open position... I would def start with that problem as it may be the whole reason for battery drain...
