Default 2009 RXV ignition switch problem?

I just bought a 2009 RXV with a 4 way ignition switch. When I first start the cart and put in F or R the cart goes fine. If I leave the key in the switch with the switch in F or R (or OFF) for 15 minutes, the cart doesn't move and I hear a tick-tick-tick sound. If I then turn key to N and then back to F or R it goes fine. Even if I leave it in the OFF position with the key in the slot for 15 minutes I need to go to N first. The batteries are new and fully charged. I'm trying to understand if this is a characteristic of the electrical system with a timeout or if it a precursor of a problem.

They do timeout if the key is left in the F or R position i know as i have walked away from my cart and had to reset it. Never tried leaving the key in the N position or off.

When you say you 'reset it' do you mean turning the key to N or turning it to OFF?

I turn it off then back on as it is a habit for me. Don't think I have tried turning to Neutral but I will try it and post a reply so you know how another cart is set.

If you could also just leave it OFF with the key in for 15 minutes and then switch to F and see what happens I would appreciate it.

I parked my cart and turned it off and left the key in the ignition. I went back about 25 min later and turned the key to reverse and it functioned nornally.
