Default Canopy Extension?

We have a flip flop seat on our 2001 cart and we are looking fro an extension or top to extend out over the rear. This is for our dogs when we have the bed flopped over. Here in Texas, the black bed gets a little warm when we are out for a drive.

Have done searches for this modification and not found any manufactured solution. Is there one and if not has anyone else made an extension?

you will probably just have to get an extended top ( all one peice ) They can get pricey tho unless you find one used..... like I did here. there is a guy on ebay that sells them and ships via a greyhound bus.. He was the cheapest Ive found on new ones

Something that can make a huge difference is to paint the black area white. Just get a can of white Krylon and paint the deck. I have been a houseboater for 40 years and have experimented with various decking colors. White is the best to reflect heat and best on bare feet. The darker the color the more heat is absorbs. Even a light grey will be hotter on the feet. Black is just like a skillet. Paint the flop seat deck white and the dogs may not even need shade. I lived in West Texas for a few years (Big Spring) and I know about the heat.

If after painting the deck if shade is desired a DYI option is to use some PVC pipe to make a frame attached to the rear seat supports and get a 4 seat driving enclosure for a long roof. Formosa covers has the best deal around.

Find a dealer for strech plastics in CA. They manufacture long tops.

Scotty, did your dog sleep in this morning? It looks like he(she) had too much fun.
