Default Need some help with Plumb quick install

My buddy just bought a 2000 EZgo freedom 36V(6ga wire) cart with a 6in lift and 22in tires. The cart does about 10-11mph and looses steam going up slight inclines. The batteries are fairly new, per the last owner. We are looking to pull a 3000lb race car with it. We bought a Plumb quick assassin motor. When purchased, plumb quick said all we need to do is pull the old motor out and put the new one in and no need to change anything else.

I have been searching the forums and called a few places for advice and one shop told me I need to do Controller, Solenoid, HD F/R and cables for sure. We've tried to call Plumb Quick several times, but no one will call us back. We have no clue how to proceed.......

As far as the motor goes, you should be able to just remove the old one and put the assassin in.
The other items(controller, solenoid, FnR) It would be best to upgrade all of them in order to get all you can from the new motor. but I don't see any reason you HAVE to.

I agree with what the shop told you, also you will need high amp hour batteries.

Either the person on the phone at Plum quick forgot to mention it, or you didn't hear the last part of the statement.
This is a cut&paste for the Assassin page on their website:
For maximum performance, safety, and durability, minimal requirements include a 400 amp controller, 4 gauge cables throughout the cart, H.D. solenoid and H.D. F&R switch.

Basically, the motor will run with a stock power delivery system, but to operate it at anywhere near its full potential, you have to allow it to draw more amps than the stock system can possibly deliver.

Also, with 22" tires, you've reduced the available torque of a stock cart by 18%, so you will need to upgrade the controller (and the other stuff) just to break even.

Be careful. The cart brakes were not designed for this.

The motor that was purchased is actually not an assassin, it's red, but apparently it's a cross between tq and speed....

Even with a stock motor, you need to upgrade the amp delivery system if you run taller than 18" tires.
Wanting to pull a 3,000 pound load, makes it even more of a necessity.

Can you do it without upgrading? Maybe, but the magic smoke that makes electrical gadgets work, is very likely to start leaking out of things.
