Seat base template?
Anyone have a template they can share here? My seat needs to be rebuilt, I can use the damaged piece but I'd like to have the template to make sure it's done right. '99 DCS.
Thx! ..a |

Re: Seat base template?
You may be better off finding one local and just trace it to a piece of cardboard. Unless you have a full size plotter not sure how you would print a template.. Last one I needed I just bought and entire new seat. Ended up being cheaper for me and less time. Or some sponsors here have some really nice ones, may be time for an upgrade

Re: Seat base template?
Already have new covers, need to remove the hardware to install and the bolts for the side rails were rusted to the blind nuts. They pulled straight out of the wood, which is rotted, so I'm replacing the wood. Already have 3/4 PT cut to overall size, just need to cut side recesses and drill holes - and remove 20,000 staples from the old cover.. :)

Well then your almost done.. I think finding one local may be your best bet and just trace it. Hope you have a powered stapler..

Re: Seat base template?
Just used the old one:
The old seat base was so rotten, the staples pulled out just by pulling on the vinyl! New seat ready to go! ..a |

Re: Seat base template?
Those turned out great. Was the foam in good shape or did you buy new foam somewhere?

Re: Seat base template?
The foam was OK but I got a block of Nu-Foam from a fabric store for <$20, so I replaced it - now it's all new! My daughter was thrilled (it's technically her cart), she had no idea I'd ordered them.
The back cover is over the old vinyl, it wasn't in bad shape at all. I've got them on the cart but I've spent all morning working on wiring, no pic yet.. ..a |

Re: Seat base template?
how thick did you do the nu-foam? was it bought at a michaels or hobby lobby or somewhere similiar? my seat is haggard and i dont think my foam is the stock stuff. seems like someone just threw what they had around the house in it
