No it runs maybe not at full speed. I have a stock controller, curtis 1204-410. I want to upgrade to a 500 - 700 amp but the folks who sell them are saying it won't work because controllers are 5K - 0 ohm.

I think if you get an Alltrax it will work since you can set it for either 5K-0 or 0-5K. Also, if you had to put a piece of rubber to get the slop out, you should probably just go ahead and replace the MCOR...

The manual for the Curtis 1204 says the standard throttle input is o-5k.

So, either you are doing something to get bad readings or your controller is not standard, LOL.

The manual I have says it works one of three ways 0-5K ohm, 5K - 0 ohm or 0-5v.

"3-A With the keyswitch off, pull off the connectors going to the throttle
input of the controller. Connect an ohmmeter to the two wires going
to the potbox and measure the resistance as you move the pedal up
and down. The resistance at the limits should be within these ranges:
RESISTANCE (in ohms) STANDARD 0–5kΩ POT or 5kΩ–0 POT"

Why don't you test it in volt mode and see what you get.

The mcor is 5k-0. Any 5k-0 will work with an mcor. If for whatever reason your mcor goes out or is malfunctioning......replace it. It certainly doesn't take 84 posts asking the same questions

I am sorry I did not want to make such a stir but the service says the following:

Failure to disconnect the 18-gauge yellow and green wires, as instructed in step 12.2 will result in
resistance readings other than those described in steps 12.4 through 12.8.
12.6. Using a multimeter set for 20k Ω (ohms), connect the red (+) probe of the multimeter to the yellow
wire at the MCOR three-pin connector with an insulation-piercing probe. Connect black (–) probe
to the black wire with an insulation-piercing probe.
12.7. With the accelerator pedal fully up (not depressed), the multimeter should indicate between 5.67k
Ω (ohms) and 7.43k Ω (ohms).
12.8. Slowly depress the accelerator pedal while monitoring the multimeter. The resistance should drop
as the pedal is depressed. When the pedal is all the way to the floor, the multimeter should indicate
approximately 1k Ω (ohms).
12.9. If the MCOR does not operate as described, replace the MCOR.

It is not worth making everyone so upset. I will just replace. Enough said.
