WELCOME !!!
Well, sounds like you are on the right path. Leaving batts in that cond. for extended times will kill them... 3/12s can test system. Check all connections for corrosion...Havent heard of anyone with a successful 36v solar system. Let us know if you find one !!!

you can charge 2 at a time with a 12 volt charger, do each set about an hour and than try your charger if nothing is wrong charger will come on........1st fill them with distilled water only than clean and tighten all cable terminal ends.......................................

Charged pairs of 6 volt batteries with 12 volt charger. 36 volt charger came back on . charged at 16 amps for over 3 hours became warm . I disconnected charger. one battery still test under 6 volts . Is charger supposed to draw 16 amps over prolong period ? Can i replace just the low charge battery ? Thanks

It depends on how low the batteries are....so yea. A fully dead pack will take about 10 hours or so to fully charge. Its not reccommended (but you can) to change just 1 battery because the pack will be out of balance....but if one golf cart battery is dead the pack is out of balance anyways so what do you have to loose.

If I may suggest...Since the pack is older try finding a used 6v. Check the rest of the pack before. Make sure all are within 2/10s of a volt of each other or imbalance persists. U can post the readings here for more anaylsis input?
But normal for the charger to run too strong too long with 1 bad battery. So here is where the danger comes in cause the charger can cook (overcharge) the gd ones trying to salvage the bad one...

Most golf cart dealers carry them. Don't order them online...the shipping cost will be huge and they will not be filled with electrolyte. Sams carries other brands of golf cart batteries.

why would you want to just replace 1 battery with a new one, that new one will only be as good as the rest, get a good used battery and put in it, plus it will save you some money.
