Default Club Car 2002 48 Volt Battery Confusion

Hello,

I have a 2002 Club car 48 Volt. The other day after charging it simply would not start, all I got was a click from the solenoid and a flash of the battery light. This morning after a full charge we checked each of the batteries.

The sixth battery when disconnected shows a voltage of 8.4 volts, when connected to the buggy loom drops to 4 volts. All the other batteries look good at around 8.4 volts.

If we remove the sixth battery the buggy operates fine (!). I of course will get a new battery, but in the meantime can i :-

- Charge the buggy with only 5 batteries on

- Operate the buggy but for shorter periods - how long will it last ?

Any advice greatly appreciated!!

no and no, you need to hook battery up and charge, and no don,t drive it with one out.........your asking for a breakdown..................and because that battery is dropping when hooked up dosn,t mean its a bad battery.......load test it see what it does but regardless there is another reason its dropping like that if your just hooking the cables up..........................

No that sounds strange. The battery should read the same by itself or when connected to the pack..
