Sticky Accelerator
Hi all -
I just picked up an 04 Precedent, going to try my hand at fixing one of these things up over the next few months. (Needed a project). One issue right off the top is the accelerator pedal - if you put it to the floor - it sticks - not the safest form of Cruise Control! I tried to spray some WD40 in there to see if that would loosen it up... but nothing yet. I've yet to open it up, but I am guessing that is next. Any advice? Thanks! Rob |

Re: Sticky Accelerator
Welcome to this awesome forum!
It sounds like those Priuses a few years back... It may be your MCOR unit under the floorboard. I know taking them apart and cleaning them has worked for some people... |

Re: Sticky Accelerator
The whole pedal assembly on a Precedent has had many issues. For the most part, it's aluminum but has steel springs that rust. If you take the assembly out and really lube it up, it will be better. You may have a broken spring too. The aluminum pedals and linkages will be covered with corrosion. It's a good idea to clean and lube it anywayz....
