Default Electrical problems on Yamaha g1

Hello, i recently acquired what i believe is a Yamaha G1. When i press the gas pedal all i get is a clicking noise coming from the solenoids and i cant help but to think it has something to do with this wire. Does anyone know where it is supposed to go? Thanks!

So best i can tell I’m working on a 1985 g1. I have traced the wire back to the solenoid but the pictures i have found here show a different solenoid. This is what i have, i am pointing to the stud the wire runs to. I am in NO means good with electrical, and electrical diagrams give me a headache lol.

Thanks for the help.

The way the cable is routed, and it's large gauge means it's probably routed over to the starter/generator? Let me see if I can find a pic.

Also you're battery cables are loose.

I think that wire goes here (where the red circle is), just based on these other pics. I would check the G1 electrical manual and/or service manual.

Thank you. I was able to go between your pics and the manual and it was for that post. I only had the terminals set on for testing, just in case it started to boil the battery. I also will need to replace the leads for the battery, since they’re too short for the type of battery I had. Now onto whatever the next challenge this beast will present!

Thanks again for the help!
