Battery Size? 1980 3-wheel Gas Harley cart
I have a 1980 Harley Davidson gas Golf cart that needs a new battery. In it currently is a 75 size with CA 32deg 780 and CCA Odeg 640. The size of battery doesn't seem tall enough as previous owner had wood boards underneath the raise it up over top of tray to connect terminals. Is there a recommended size of battery for this cart as parts manual just shows pic but no specs or part#? I assume the battery is to rest in tray - wondering if there is suppose to be a mat though as well?

The 63-80 parts catalog also shows a battery hold down rod and bracket that should attach to the tray. The lengths of the rod and bracket would give a good clue as to the physical dimensions of the battery. Do you have these parts? IMG_8606.JPG |

Thanks - yes I do. Wondering what other's have used as far as group size? 70, 75, 26, 34??

The battery I was told by someone from vintagegolfcarts that it was a group 24 12 volt battery

I just bought an Interstate Group 75 since that was what was already in my cart. Seems to fit okay. Mine also has a board under the battery.

Use what ever fits. Some have used a heavy duty lawn tractor battery but I like the group 24 size.
