![]() I added a new steering wheel. while my cart drives straight, the steering wheel is tilted. I can't make the appropriate adjustments to get it straight from the steering wheel so I guess i need to do some adjusting under the cart. Can someone explain how to do this? Thx! Mark

![]() Can you put up a picture? I just did this, and made sure my wheels were exactly straight and put the new grant wheel on straight and walla...straight steering wheel. You can start jacking around with your tie rods and steering system, but you risk screwing up your alighment/toe-it, etc...
Just loosen up the nut that holds the steering wheel on, drive forward a little, stop, remove the steering wheel and put back on straight, repeat until it's where you want it. That should work with most applications. ![]() Like this: |

![]() The adjustment for the steering wheel is separate from alignment/toe in. Part # 27 adjusts steering. The tie rod adjusts alignment.

![]() Ah. Good point. I looked at some of his other posts, he appears to have a 2009 Precedent.
Different setup from my cart! My bad! I'll STFU now.... Here's the parts blowup for the 2009-2011 Precedent: ![]() |

![]() sorry for the delayed response. I have an 08 precedent, non lifted. 12" wheels, Low Profile Tires.
In terms of the steering wheel, I have played around with the adapter and looks like its something that needs to be correct under the cart. I played around with the drivers side tie rod and was able to get the steering wheel straight, however, i think this was at the expense of the alignment / toe. Any thoughts / Insight would be appreciated. |

![]() Like Scooter said, unfortunately now you have to re-do the alignment.
Get your alignment right, pull dead straight forward, park it, take the wheel and hub off and center the steering wheel and bolt it back down. That's the right way to do it ![]() |

![]() First you need to fix the alignment, then spin the wheel all the way left or right, start counting turns and spin the wheel to the opposite lock, come halfway back. This will get you close. Then pull the wheel including the splined hub, put it back on without tightening the nut and drive it. Keep adjusting till you get it where you want it and tighten the nut.
My two cents |
