replacing carb on '93 club car
i need to replace the carb on my cart, it has the kawasaki fe290 engine. the cart is at our vacation home, and i have no convenient way to get it to my shop, so i plan to replace it myself. i've ordered the new carb and all recommended gaskets. i think the job is straight-forward, per the mechanic at the shop i use. but i would feel better if i had a step-by-step procedure to follow. any idea where i can get one?

Also, take the bowl off and clean it inside first before you install.
Sometimes the jets are clogged. |

Re: replacing carb on '93 club car
Yess sir, on pit bikes we have bought bigger mikunis, originals and clones, brand new. It doesn’t run right and we couldn’t figure it out. So after everything we’ve done, we figured well let’s pull the carb off and put the old one on and it ran better. We were like we got a pos carb.... We pull the new carb apart. We didn’t really see anything obvious, so we cleaned every port, jet, bowl and housing. After that it ran perfect and ripped hard even with carb out of adjustment. So now ever time I buy a new or used carb, I open it up and take the jets out and clean everything with carb cleaner. The price of a $3 can of carb cleaner and 20 minutes of your time will ensure in your mind that if there’s still a problem, it isn’t the carb again as you just cleaned it up. Now this is only true, that it’s not the carb again, if you remove the old fuel, even if it’s not very old and if you put fresh fuel, flush your fuel system until new fuel comes out and put a brand new filter. It doesn’t take much to clog these little jets and ports.
Sorry if my spelling and punctuation isn’t good right now, I’m busy working on a cart but trying to help |
