Default 98 Yamaha G16 smoking

98 Yamaha G16 fuel pump went out and filled crank case with gas. I replaced pump drained everything and put fresh oil in it and ran it for a while and changed oil again. No problems for a while now it runs good but starts smoking as soon as it starts I checked compression and have 170lbs. Does anyone have ideas on what I need to do

Check the airbox for any oil/gas mix. Drive the hell out of it for 15 minutes. Give it the "Italian tune up". If it doesn't clear up, one or more of your rings were destroyed when the fuel was washing the oil off the cylinder walls.

There is no oil in the air box and I ran the cart for about a month after the gas getting in the crank case before it started smoking. Could it possibly be the valve guides or a valve seal cause with the compression being at 170lbs I can’t imagine that the rings are bad unless it’s just the oil ring

Oil rings are notorious for going before you loose compression on golf carts

The top end on a Yamaha gets very minimal oil anyway, there isn't much oil up there to get eaten by the motor.
