Tire question.....
6 ply, 4 ply or 2 ply??
I am looking at some wheel and tire packages. All of the tires are 22X11.00-10. I really like the look of the ITP All Trails (2 ply) but also am looking at the Innova All Terrains (4 ply) and the Sahara Classic (6 ply). Our cart is strictly a hard surface cart as we use it for a pit support vehicle at the races. Any thoughts on the difference between these tires and preferences? The difference in price is negligible so that isn't an issue. Thanks. |

Re: Tire question.....
well...the 6 plys are thicker than the 4 plys and the 4 plys are thicker than the 2 plys, and therefore the 6 plys are a lot thicker than the 2 plys. if youre running in areas with a high risk of a puncture then get the 6plys as well as if youre toting a lot of weight then youll want the thicker ones..but if youre just cruising then the 2 plys should work

Re: Tire question.....
2 ply will also be very mushy. if you have a rear seatt or something u will have more sidewall slop.

Re: Tire question.....
Hi, Keep this simple. 6 ply are rarely used on gol cars. Only if they need to haul heavy loads on a reguler basia. The tires are very heavy from all that rubber...6 plys=30#
4 ply is 30% less rubber, less safe tire? It is 30% less expensive as the 6 ply. They will handle good. arent too heavy. 30% less weight. 20# 2 Ply..Very light. relatively unstable. Balloon like feel...60% less weight than 6 ply. 10# Cart will operate faster with a 2 ply tire, because of the weght. Handling is fair. 4 ply will operate and handle best snd still not too heavy. 6 ply made for tanks. If you have HP they would be great. Make a stock cart a tank spongy, good, heavy? |
