Help speed up my EZGO Shuttle…
Hi guys, does anyone have any experience speeding up a 2007 EZGO Shuttle 6 with the stock Curtis 400 amp PDS second generation Controller model #1264-5407 and stock Motor part #73291G04. According to EZGO spec the gear ratio is 14.7:1.
This is a factory 48 volt cart with original 4 gage wire and 8 new 6 volt batteries. I have added a 6” lift and 23” tires. At present it does 17 mph with GPS. I would like to see about 25 mph. Is there a speed chip available for the Curtis 400 amp PDS second generation Controller? What is the most economical way to get this speed? Any help and or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. |

Gaining 8 mph is going to cost some bucks. High Speed gears might be the easiest?
Not sure what you call "economical" though? |

If I install a set of stock gears 12.5:1 that might get me +3mph and still retain some low end torque, I wouldn't want to go higher than that. I live in a flat area and just drive it on paved roads. Can you add a speed chip or reprogram the Curtis 400 amp PDS second generation Controller? |

Reprogramming Curtis controllers is difficult and probably won't do anything for speed. Here's the Curtis programming info: http://curtisinst.com/index.cfm?fuse...tegory&catID=7 |

Looking at a wiring diagram for the PDS II (see attachment) shows a Performance Plug on the controller, what is this used for? Thanks for your help.... |

Re: Help speed up my EZGO Shuttle…
This is a factory stock 2007 shuttle 6 that came with a Curtis 400 amp PDS second generation Controller model #1264-5407 and stock Motor part #73291G04. It is a factory 48 volt cart with original 4 gage wire. According to EZGO spec the gear ratio is 14.7:1. The only thing that has been done to the cart is replace the eight 6 volt batteries with new T-605's and a 6” lift with 23” tires.

Re: Help speed up my EZGO Shuttle…
The PDS controllers do have four different controller performance options.
All Terrain Mild Hill Steep Hill Freedom All are just different levels of regenerative braking with the Freedom option being near zero regen braking. Look here towards bottom of post. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/electric-ezgo/1536-basic-ezgo-electric-golf-cart-wiring-manuals.html |

Re: Help speed up my EZGO Shuttle…
You've made that quite clear.
Do you or don't you have the J2 connector port on the controller? |
