Default Engine Choke???

Is it normal to have to use the choke all the time. It seems more and more latley I have to use the choke to get my motor running. Not sure what motor I have I'll look and post.

Is it getting colder?

NO, it's not normal for it to need to be choked all the time.

What cart do you have and what year? Choking ALL the time to keep it running is a common symptom of a plugged up or partly plugged main jet. A simple cleaning will fix it. The jet is located in the bowl bolt. Soak it in carb cleaner and use a SMALL wire to make sure the jet passageways are clear.

It's a 92 EZGO gas 2 - stroke motor, can tell what brand the motor is.
Where can I find that info?

It's a Robin 3PG engine.

Ruredy has posted a slew of links in the stickies of this thread. You may check some of those out for a manual.

Check the plug it may need to be cleaned or maybe a new one, but mb523 is right about cleaning the carb, every time i have something that doesn't run right or not at all i clean the carb.80% of the time its something with the carb.

Yes, do this as well. When my 2-stroke was down on compression (95lbs) it WOULD NOT start, even with choke. Good call crash.

get a compression tester at the auto parts store (they might have a loan-a-tool program). Take the spark plug out and screw in the hose to the tester and turn the engine over a few times.
