Default Installing Jake's 4" Lift Kit

Just got a Jakes's 4" lift kit for EZ-GO 1991 Marathon Gas. Did not realize when I ordered it that it will not work with stock tires...is this definite that I cannot take off lift once installed until I get 10" or greater tires? Or is this just not recommened for driving but I can take off lift to move in and out of garage? I do not want to start something and not be able to finish until I purchase new wheels and tires...Also, anyone who has experience in using this lift kit - any problem areas to expect or special tools required? Any info would be very much appreciated - have a great holiday weekend....Mike

If I understand correctly,....yes you can definatley use your current tires/rims, probably just not recommended due to rolling the cart on a corner! You will only have installation problems with that lift when you increase the rim/tire size. BTW, it's a good lift...I have a Jakes 6", some minor rubbing issues because my tires are wide. But the lift has performed very well.

You may need a pickle fork to bust your tie rod ends loose?

Sometimes stock wheels/tires don't clear the spindle control arms. (depends on the lift) This is why the manufacture says stock wheels/tires will not work. In most cases lug extender or wheel spacers can fix this
